About the role

⭐ Full-time ⭐ Flexible hours ⭐Tallinn

We’re looking for a Laboratory Technician (electrolysis) to join our growing team at Stargate Hydrogen. 

You will become part of the Research & Development team, designing and assembling new laboratory-scale and pilot-scale test benches to help validate and improve our patent-pending electrolysis technology. You will also operate, service and maintain our lab-scale electrolysis setups. You will be reporting to Martin Maide (Material Scientist).

What does the day-to-day look like in this role?

  • Operating, servicing, and maintaining lab-scale electrolysis setups, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.

  • Systematically acquiring and processing data from electrolysis setups, preparing weekly summaries of the measurements

  • Developing and implementing calibration procedures for sensors and instruments used in the electrolysis systems.

  • Collaborating with our engineers and scientists to upgrade and upscale the electrolysis test setups.

  • Participating in the assembly of electrolysis stack prototypes to identify ways of automating and improving the assembly and testing processes.

  • Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in electrolysis literature and related fields to enhance the performance and reliability of our testing setups.

  • Collaborating with external vendors and suppliers to source necessary components for the electrolysis systems.

Must-have qualifications:

  • Education in Chemistry, or similar

  • Demonstrated systematical approach to data acquisition and processing

  • Passion for hands-on work and problem-solving

  • Ability to identify and implement improvements, develop and follow maintenance plans

  • Excel working in a team

  • Great communication skills in English

  • Sense of urgency for developing products that can help accelerate the green transition     

Nice-to-have qualifications:

  • Prior experience in (systematical) laboratory activities

  • Knowledge of basic electrolysis chemistry

  • Knowledge of LabVIEW
